Migration from framework 2.0 to 4.0 platform. We need to migrate the infragistics controls also. Can you point to some documents or links that will give a head start?
Udhayakumar,
The steps are to upgrade the version of the .NET Framework that you are targeting in Visual Studio from 2.0 to 4.5. If this involves moving to a newer version of Visual Studio, you may also need to upgrade the project and/or solution. Once this is done you can update the Infragistics controls by running the Version Upgrade Utility that we provide with the toolset.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Hi All,
I am working on migration of Asp.net application from framework 2.0 to 4.5 for IE11 support. We are using infragistics controls version 7.1.According http://www.infragistics.com/community/blogs/taz_abdeali/archive/2011/11/17/asp-net-product-changes-in-2011-volume-2.aspx blog all contols that we are using are retired.I have installed infragistics 15.1 on my windows 7 machine. I have used version upgrade utility but it can not convert classic retired control to newer version.I have below questions:
1)Do I need to replace each control manually?
2) We are using 160 ultrawebgrid. Can you please provide best way to replace ultraweb grid to new web data grid ?
3) Is support of infragistic 7.1 is still available?
Let me know if you need more details
Apil,
We provide support for any volume for three years from the release of that volume so support for 2007 Volume 1 ended over five years ago. For the controls, yes you will need to replace the controls manually. For an approach to move from the UltraWebGrid to the newer controls refer to the following:
http://help.infragistics.com/doc/ASPNET/2016.1/CLR4.0/?page=GridMigrationOverview.html
Note that you may also want to consider using our newer igGrid built on top of the jQuery framework if it is an option for your grid.
