On your feature side, I filter the grid in the product name column. The value in the discontinued column is checked (see attached file)
My customer now expects to have just the "checked" option in the filter dropdown in the discontinued column, but there are all values available which have been there initially. Is it possible to reduce filter dropdown values in respect of the actual filter result in all other columns?

Hello,
Thanks for your post.
It seems that out of the box there isn't option like that you motioned. I made an sample that shows you how to remove the filtering elements with JQuery on FilterDropdwonDipslaying event.

Ahem... can't see an attachment ;-)
Sorry about the inconvenience. It seems the attachment isn't attached as well. I'm attaching it again.
Thanks for your understanding in advance.
sorry but I think I can't use this, it's too static and wouldn't bring up the full filter choice if I clear the filter in the first column.
The only working way seems to be to determine the distinct values of filtered-in rows at server side and set the column filter dropdowns accordingly, but that's too much effort by far.
As I see it seems that we don't provide functionality like this. It looks like that this is the best approach for achieving your approach.
