Version=13.2.20132.2028
batchupdating = true
when clicking in the dropdown on add new row, works great on first add, go to add another new row (no postback yet), dropdown appears, selection made, dropdown disappears and the selected item is not captured. The user must click back on the addnewrow cell and again make a choice, then it is retained.
works in IE, not in chrome or firefox
I have attached the aspx and aspx.vb files with a .txt extension so that I can upload them
here is the aspx file. Sorry if I can do this differently.
Hello akcia ,
Thank you for posting in our forum.
Could you let me know the exact versions of Chrome and FireFox on which you’re encountering this issue?
I’ve created a sample based on your code and tested it against Chrome version “34.0.1847.131 m” and FireFox version “29.0.1”.
In both browsers the selected value was retained when selected from the drop down.
The exact steps I used to test this and the result I observed are below:
1) Run the sample
2)In the adding row from the “type” column select an item from the drop down editor.
3)Hit Enter
Row is added in the grid.
4)From the adding row select another value from the drop down editor.
5)Click outside of the cell to lose focus.
The selected value is displayed in the cell.
If you hit the "enter" key that row will also be added with the selected value from the editor.
I’m attaching the sample for your reference. Let me know if I’m missing anything from your scenario.

Thanks for your response Maya. We are using the same browser versions that you have pointed out on our end.
I changed a few settings on our grid as per your example code and it is working correct if you follow the steps you have pointed out up above. i.e. if i hit enter it works fine.
But if i hit the "tab" key to go to the next row it seems like you have to click the drop down cell twice for the drop down to even appear. I tried it in your example code as well as our code.
Is this a known issue? Is it possible that the user doesn't have to click twice in the cell for the drop down to appear if he/she used the tab key instead of the enter key?
Thanks,
Akcia
