customizing infragistics reports

Hi,

I tried to do some customization in the Infragistic report file. simplest example(changing appearance of a label). so i opened Report.igr in XML(text Editor) in visual studio and wrote a simple Control template for Label. but after this my report stop working and it shows a error :

"This file format seems to be old or does not corresponds to a Infragistics Reporting document." My Question is can we design a infragistic report in XAML ? like we design any WPF UI. or it can only be configured through report data explorer. Is there any video or other tutorial available for report designing.

Hi Gergana,

I have already gone through these links. As i stated in my Query itself, these links doesn't talk about changing the Control Template of any control. Hope you understood my query. I have to do lot of customization for presenting my reports effectively. And writing a control template for a label is simplest of them. sorry but these links doesn't provide me any help.

Hello Kamlendra,

I have been further researching your issue. Currently you can design the reports by using the properties for the .igr file. For example if you have a grid in the .igr file. You can click on a certain cell then choose the desired colors for background or foreground(for example) from the Properties window.

I have created a screenshot for you to show you this. Please find it attached and feel free to let me know if you have any further questions on this matter.

I have been looking into your issue. Currently the controls in the Infragistics Reporting can be style, using the ways I have mentioned in my previous posts. If you want to be able to create templates for these controls you can log a new Product Idea for this functionality in our site: http://ideas.infragistics.com.

Steps to create your idea:



Log into the Infragistics Product Ideas site at http://ideas.infragistics.com (creating a new login if needed).

Navigate to the product / platform channel of your choice (e.g. WPF, Windows Forms, ASP.NET, HTML5 / Ignite UI, iOS / NucliOS, etc.)

Add your product idea and be sure to be specific and provide as much detail as possible. Explain the context in which a feature would be used, why it is needed, why it can’t be accomplished today, and who would benefit from it. You can even add screenshots to build a stronger case. Remember that for your suggestion to be successful, you need other members of the community to vote for it. Be convincing!

The benefits of submitting the product idea yourself include:

-          Direct communication with our product management team regarding your product idea.
