Infragistics controls act like components
posted

We recently upgraded to 2014.2. Now all of our controls show as components instead of being on the form. Any new controls added to the form also behave this way. Same thing happens when we create a new form and try to put a control on it.

    Hello Paul,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Controls can end up in the component tray occurs when a Windows Forms control can't locate the appropriate design-time assembly or if the toolbox is out of date. Visual Studio may never have added the 2014.2 controls as a separate tab in the toolbox. If you uninstalled the previous version you should delete that tab of controls and keep only what is installed. Visual Studio should be indicated when installing/uninstalling volume releases of our controls and update the designer accordingly.

Which version of Visual Studio and DotNet framework are you using?

I recommend closing down all your apps and run the Toolbox Utility.

Reopen Visual Studio and see if it automatically created a new tab for you with a sample project.

Let me know if you have any questions.
