Webhierarchical Datagrid dropdown validation

I want to validate the dropdown which is inserted in the webhierarchical datagrid row.
the validation is whether the dropdown is selected or not..
suppose if it is not selected, then i want to display an alert like "The access dropdown must be selected"..It may be javascript..
I am waiting for the solution
