VersionUtility 2017.2 installation failed on VisualStudio 2017

I attempted to install the visual studio extension but install fails. This error was in the log file.

Error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action: VS2017DevSetup, location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\BuildTools\Common7\IDE\, command: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\BuildTools\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe /setup /nosetupvstemplates

The executable is not installed at that path.

I used the Platform Installer.

A private ticket would be fine.

Hello Mike,

Are you running the installation through the Platform Installer or using the Version Utility msi?

Can you please provide the complete log file of the installation? You can attach it here.
