We have created Microsoft SQL Server database in semi dedicated environment. We are trying to connect Database from “Report Plus application” but it shows an error message as "Connection failed with the login is from untrusted domain and can't be used with windows authentication”.Pls advise how to solve it...
Junaid,
Here's what our engineers found:
We need to open a TCP connection to the port (usually 1433) where the database server is running, as you are hosting this database in a hosting provider, sometimes this is not allowed or is charged separately, or sometimes is only a restriction in the firewall settings, to avoid connection from any IP address.
Thank you for providing the test credentials. I was able to run some tests and this is what I found out:
- Both the URL and the IP provided point to a page
- SQL traffic is not HTTP/HTTPS
- We believe we don't support this
In spite of what I found, one of our engineers will see what we can do to support your scenario.
I'll update the thread as soon as I have their feedback.
Thank you for your patience and hava a nice day.
Hello Junaid,
In order to troubleshoot this issue we will need test credentials to your to your server.
Please send a message to mobileapps@infragistics.com with the test credentials mentioning this most "MSSQL in semi dedicated Environment"
Thanks.
I have tried without Domain also but now error message is "Can not open database for requested login:connection failed for database Khari_Mis",In account screen
which username & password to be filled ? I have entered SQL Server UserName & Password...
Note:
But its working in SQL Server Management Studio for SQL server Authentication (with same username & password for above)
The username & password which I have mentioned in screenshot is for SQL Server Authentication. If I enter without domain Name in "Authentication screen",whether it will connect as SQL Server Authentication ???.Pls advise.
