sstabs2.ocx version 2.0.3.5 - issue with japanese translated strings

We are using sstabs2.ocx version 2.0.3.5 in vb6 application. Initially Japanese translated strings is displayed in tab headers properly. When user clicks on tab, it changes to junk characters.
Is this known issue in sstabs2.ocx? If so, can you provide details for new sstabs.ocx which supports Unicode functionality properly.
