I have a webdatagrid that has the editor provider set up just like the examples. I am testing in IE11. I am using Version=14.1.20141.1015. When I am in compatibility view the editor date box shows up. It does not when not in compatibility view. I don't want to set the meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" because I want to use the latest browser. If I set it to compatibility view I can see the input area.
I have attached an image. The image shows a datepicker above the webdatagrid and a webdatepicker in the webdatagrid. The calendar button of course only shows up in the webdatagrid once the editor provider is selected, but only the button shows up. ?? How do I get the input box to display along with the button when not in compatibility view? I don't want to rely on compatibility view.
Hello,
I suggest you to use the latest Service Release for this product and it is currently 14.1.20141.2692. It includes all the fixes created after the initial volume release (14.1.20141.1015). You could easily test with the latest files using our CDN. For example:
<!-- Ignite UI Required Combined CSS Files --><link href="http://cdn-na.infragistics.com/igniteui/2014.1/latest/css/themes/infragistics/infragistics.theme.css" rel="stylesheet" /><link href="http://cdn-na.infragistics.com/igniteui/2014.1/latest/css/structure/infragistics.css" rel="stylesheet" />
<script src="http://modernizr.com/downloads/modernizr-latest.js"></script><script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.9.1.min.js"></script><script src="http://code.jquery.com/ui/1.10.3/jquery-ui.min.js"></script>
<!-- Ignite UI Required Combined JavaScript Files --><script src="http://cdn-na.infragistics.com/igniteui/2014.1/latest/js/infragistics.core.js"></script><script src="http://cdn-na.infragistics.com/igniteui/2014.1/latest/js/infragistics.lob.js"></script>
Please let me know of the outcome in the same test scenario, when using latest IgniteUI resource files.
I figured out the working of the data grids. I have one webdatagrid and one webhierarchicaldatagrid. I was missing the client event to commit when a cell is changed. However, the webdatepicker still doesn't show the text area, only the calendar button. I have all the other controls the drop downs, the grids etc loading their styles. Why won't the text editor part of the webdatepicker show when in a grid unless in compatibility view? I need a fix on this asap. Please. DocType is HTML 5 and I have tried changing the meta tag to different ie browser versions too. Compatibility view should not be required. It can't be my settings if it works in compatibility view.
I still don't have an answer here! I have 2 grids on a page and use the dateprovider in my grids. One actually defaults to 1901. I cannot get either of these editors to display the text box area of the datepicker at all. It is just like the pictures I have already attached. I am now using Version=15.1.20151.2123 in order to make sure it is the latest version. I have tried everything. My work is just like the samples you are referring to here. The same display or lack of shows up in Firefox. I don't have another approved browser at this time. What am I supposed to do here???
Hello nbizub,
Just to make sure we are on the same page, and you are familiar with the expected behavior- the WebDatePicker, as well as all other editors used as editor providers in the grids, will render its inputs when the grid enters editing mode and a particular row is in editing mode. What is more, the inputs then will be rendered as well as any editor buttons if the editor is using one and allow you to edit the particular cell. So in case of WebDatePicker, the calendar button should not be visible when the grid row is not in editing mode.
I am not aware what exactly you are doing in the following two handlers,
OnRowUpdating="wdgTransactions_RowUpdating" OnInitializeRow="wdgTransactions_InitializeRow
so I have modified my last sample to match the relevant markup you have shared above. I could not reproduce any issue using IE11, including running it under all available Document Modes. So the differences with your project could be in these two handlers as well as in the DataSource. This is why I suggest you to isolate the OnRowUpdating, OnInitializeRow handlers and see if it there is an issue.
I am attaching the sample for reference. You could test it on your side.
In any case, the calendar icon should not be visible if the grid row is not in editing. If you happen to experience any unexpected behavior, in order for me to be able to provide you any further help, please modify my latest attachment to match your approach and reattach it.
I have images attached here. The button shows but the text box does not. So it is definitely in edit mode when the calendar does open. Everything works as expected except the text box does not open in the correct width. Look at the images. Also, I found that in the compatibility view everything works unless the <!DOCTYPE html> tag is being used. Then the textbox doesn't open period in either view. So, if you use the <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> AND HAVE THE WEBSITE IN COMPATIBILITY VIEW then the editor textbox will be the correct width and everything works fine. So, my question is why does the site have to be in compatibility view in order for the webdatepicker editor loaded in the webdatagrid and the webheirarchical datagrid in order for the textbox to open properly. Outside of the grids it works as expected in either view even with the HTML5 doctype tag. This is all the same in Foxfire. So it is not a browser issue. It is an HTML5 issue.
