Hello,
I receive this error after dragging the WebHierarchicalDataSource on to a web form. I get this error even if the WHDS has no views added to it.
Any thoughts what may be wrong?
I've attached a small project with three pages. One uses 2 access datasources in combination with the WHDS to do a simple hiearchy.
The other only has script manager and WHDS control on it. Both pages give me the Object ref error.

More info on my problem:
I had a WebImageViewer on my master page. I redesigned the master page and removed the WebImageViewer. That is when the error you describe above began. So if I drag a WebHierarchicalDataSource onto any page in the project, I get the error.
If I drag a WebImageViewer back onto the master page, the error disappears.
So now my app is in the strange situation of needing a WebImageViewer on the master page, even if it is not configured and is not visible, in order for the WebHierarchicalDataSource to NOT throw an error.

This issue seems to have resolved itself after upgrading to the latest service release of Infragistics. I would suggest upgrading to the latest release. Also, don't forget to re-install the toolbox controls, so the latest dlls are used.
As always, if this is a reoccuring problem etc.. open up a support ticket. My support ran out in Oct-09, and I had some open tickets. not sure if they are still working on them or if they are pushed aside since my support expired.
Lots of bugs get fixed via the service releases. Unfortunately, we do not receive notifications that a new one is available.

If your case was linked to a development issue, you will recieve an email and update to the case when the Service Release is available. You can than download it from your "MY IG" page after you log in. You will be able to download the Service releases for the product you purchased.
