Hi, I have one query regarding the adding tooltipmanager to ultragrid celltext instead of existing tooltip., the default tooltip appears in grid ,only when the cell text is completly not visible. Is it possible to make the tooltip manager's behaviour also same as that of the existing Typstyle?.Because when add tooltip manager it is appearing for each and every cell even it is completely visible to read, and would like to know is there anyway we can restrict the width of the tooltip when the celltext is too long so that the text will wrap itself?
Hi Charudatta,
Thank you for posting in our forums.
What you could do in your case is to get the cell text and the cell size and then measure whether or not the text fits the cell size. If it does - don’t show the tooltip, if it does – show it.
I have attached a sample which demonstrates this suggestion.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Thanks Dimitar ,I would like to know is it possible to wrap the text of the tool tip so that long text can appear in multiline inside the tooltip.sometimes cell contain very long text and the tooltip of the same appears very long.
Thank you for the reply.
The tooltip will show the text that you have provided. This means that if the text has new lines in it, the tooltip will show these new lines. So what you can do in your case is to evaluate the text you are assigning to the tooltip and see if it is too long. If it is – add new lines where needed. This way if you have a long tooltip, it will be displayed on several lines.
I s it possible to wrap the text in grid cell itself so that tooltip will show the same?
Because in our case ,We use the default tooltip of the ultragrid which shows the grid cell text as it is
