I have a weird problem with AppStylist: When I select a System color (e.g. "Highlight"), the color is set to Default instead of the selected color.
I select a UI role, a state, and then press the color dropdown for e.g. background or border. This displays a window with several tabs: Custom, Web, System, Office XP etc., and selecting a color on any of these tabs except System works fine. But no matter what color I select on the System tab, the color is just set to Default.
How can I specify a system color?
I'm using Infragistics 2016.2 on Windows 7.
Hello,
This is an unexpected result and I'm not certain yet why it would happen. I'm setting up a Windows 7 VM now to test it in a similar environment to yours.
What theme are you using? It's possible that the selected theme is having an impact on AppStylist's behavior.
I'm using the standard Windows 7 Aero theme.
It happens in both the standard AppStylist, and in the runtime version of AppStylist.
Hi Steven,
I have not yet reproduced this. Does this issue occur on other Windows 7 machines? Does it occur with a fresh installation? Please let me know if there is anything unique or unusual about your environment.
I have a colleague who is having the same problem on his Windows 7 workstation.
I just tested it on a fairly new installation of Windows 10 (VM). It doesn't have Visual Studio etc. installed, so I just used the runtime version of AppStylist embedded in a program. It has the same problem.
On my workstation, I also have Infragistics 2012.2 installed. This version of AppStylist actually works!
I'm glad to hear that the 2012 version of AppStylist works. I am still trying to track down this bug to reproduce it, so it's good to know that you have a way to work around it.
You can safely use the 2012 version of AppStylist to set up your ISL. AppStylist is in a good state and doesn't often need updates. The most common reason we do update it is to add roles for the controls that are added in a new version.
I will continue to work on figuring out what's causing this issue. Please keep working with the 2012 application and let me know if you have any questions.
I have not been able to reproduce this issue.
In order to continue investigating this, I would need either a VM that I can access from you where the issue occurs, or more details about your environment that I can test. Please let me know if you would like to continue looking into this, or if you are able to use the latest version.
Another possible solution is to download and install the latest Infragistics version. It might be worth a test to see if the issue occurs in 17.1.
