Hai to all,
I m using Infragistics 2007 volume 3 . I am exporting the grid datas to excel using the excelexport.UltraGridExcelExporter. And i m opening that excel file through the code. This is creating excel and it is working fine . But in some system i got one error "The Document is corrupted and cannnot be opened. To try and repair it, use the Open and Repair command in the Open Dialog (File Menu) and select Extract Data is prompted". Can any one guide to solve this problem?
My best guess is that the machine in quesiton has a version of Excel that is too old to open the new format.
Hai Mike,
I already checked the excel version in that system. That system having excel 2003. Many of my clients system having excel 2003 only. But they are working. When i try to open the created file manually, it show me the same error but the excel file opened with all imported data (without any loss).
So if you export the Excel file on your machine and open it, it works fine. But if you export the Excel file on the client machine and open it, it gives you an error.
What happens if you export the file on your machine and try to open it on the customers machine? Or if you export the file on the client machine and try to open it on your machine?
I tried to open the excel file (exported as problem in client machine) in my system. In my system also i got that problem. Likely i tried to open the excel file (exported in my system with out problem) in my client system, i open there with out problem.
So I think there is no problem in the Microsoft excel in my client system.
Mike, I need one more information from you. Is it possible to export our grid information to openoffice file.
Thanks & Regards
Suresh Kumar. R
Hi Suresh,
Okay, so this seems to indicate that the file itself is the problem, not Excel. So either the applicaiton o the client machine is using a different version of the Infragistics Assemblies in which there is a bug. Or else, the client machine is exporting using some feature or combination of features which is causing the file to become corrupted.
If it's the former then this should be something you can check into by simply examining the versions.
If it's the latter, then the first thing I would recommend is to make sure you and the client have the latest Hot Fix. This may be an issue that has already been fixed.
If that does not help, then we'd need to be able to reproduce the problem in order to investigate any further.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with OpenOffice. Doesn't it just use the same format as MS Office?
There's no support specifically in the controls for OpenOffice, but I don't think there would need to be.
