Hi @all.
Since the Upgrade to Win 10 we've got a strange behaviour on the Grid. When adding four columns to a band and then grouping them into two groups with one level each group. Then adding a summary to column one with SummaryPositionColumn below the source column works fine. But if I add a summary to the second column of the group, then even the designer in Visual Studio throws an exception (NullreferenceException) wich replaces the entire UltraGrid with a picture of the exception without any chance of getting the UltraGrid back.
The error is reproducable on multiple computers and even with an empty project.
Using Version 14.2.20142.2168.
Everything worked fine until my computer was upgraded to Windows 10.
Thanks for your help
Additional Information: Tested the same with Win 7 and Version 2092, and it works just fine.
Hello Stefan,
Thank you for posting on our forum.
I need more information in order to investigate the cause of NullReferenceException that’s being thrown from your application. Please send us a sample with this issue reproduced in it. You have mentioned that you tested this issue with 14.2.20142.2168 on a Windows10 machine. Have you tested this issue with the same version on Windows7 machine? If you were able to reproduce this issue with an empty project please send us that empty project as well.
Are you using CalcManager for the summary calculations? If you are, then the value set for FormulaRowIndexSource can also be the cause of this issue. The FormulaRowSourceIndex determines whether the CalcManager deals with all rows or just the visible rows. You can read more about this property here. Please verify if this property is set correctly.
I will further look into this issue as soon as I receive the above requested information.
Sincerely,Sahaja KokkalagaddaAssociate Software Developer
Hello Sahaja,
I attached a solution with the described problem. As I mentioned it only occurs in version 14.2.20142.2168. Is there any place to get the 2092? Because with this version it works on the Win 7 machine and I’d prefer not to upgrade the last computer which is able to build a working project, but I have no problem on downgrading my workstation to see if it works.
No, I’m not using CalcManager. I just need a simple sum which worked fine so far without CalcManager. It doesn’t matter what I set in the field for formula. It is just the placement of the summary-column as far as I can tell.
Hello Stefan.
I have tested Object reference not set to instance of an object exception when adding two summaries to one group issue. I did reproduce this issue using 14.2.20142.2168 version on a Windows10 machine. However, this issue has been fixed in the latest version and by upgrading to it you can resolve this issue.
If upgrading is not a preferred option then you can roll back the application to use 14.2.20142.2092 version. You can download it from your MyKeysandDownloads page when you login to your account at Infragistics.com and select the NetAdvanatge for WindowsForms 14.2 product. Once you select the specific product all the patches of that particular version are listed under ServiceReleases tab.
Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.
