Light weight install?
posted

Hello everyone!

I am just doing a trial of infragistics. We are only looking at the HTML Editor and do not need any of the other products. Is there a way to do a light weight install of only the editor? We do not want to have a lot of dlls to upgrade everytime there is a version change. Also is everyone happy with the editor? We are looking to replace devexpress with this one. We need to be allow users to paste from Microsoft word into this editor and we are currently saving the content in oracle.

Thanks for any info!

    Hello Bobby,

Thank you for posting in our forums!

While there is no lightweight install available, deployment for using the WebHtmlEditor is lightweight.  It only requires these two assemblies:

    Infragistics<CLRVersion>.WebUI.WebHtmlEditor.<IGVersion>.dll
    Infragistics<CLRVersion>.WebUI.Shared.<IGVersion>.dll

You can see more information on deployment in our documentation here.

The service release updates/installation can be handled on a development machine and that machine can be responsible for updating those two assemblies to your staging/production application.

If you have any further questions or concerns with this, please let me know.
