I am new on WPF and I want to use your ColorPicker within a Dialog Window without showing the Combo Box. Is there any way to do this?
Thanks a lot Jan
Hello Jan,
Thank you for your post. I have been looking into it and I created a sample project for you with the functionality you want. Basically I copied the default Style of the XamColorPicker and changed the parent of its Dropdown from Popup to Grid. This way the dropdown is visible all the time. Please let me know if this helps you or you need further assistance on this matter.
Looking forward for your reply.
Thanks a lot for your fast response and - the solution is working fine so far. I have one additional question. The Event "SelectedColorChanged" is fired, if the color is changing by mouse move over the control. Now I want to use the ColorPicker within a Windows Dialog and I want to set the DialogResult=true if the color is finally selected by click on the control or by press the OK button within the AdvancedSettingsDialog. Is there any event which I can use. I want to prevent to add an additional button in order to close the Windowdialog.
Thanks a lot
Regards Jan
I believe that the same question is already discussed here:

Please let me now if this helps you or you need further assistance on this matter.
Hi Stefan,
thanks a lot for your response - I have studied the other thread in detail. I have some questions, or misunderstandings on my side.
1) Within your provided solution the the DropDown_Closing event is not fired, because you have change the Style from PopUp to Grid.
2.) I tried to implement the strategy within the other thread. As I mentioned before I want to use your ColorPicker within a standard WindowDialog and I want to close the Dialog Window (set DialogResult = true) if the color is finally selected by Click or by press OK within the Advanced Dialog. If I want to use the DropDown_Closing or DropDown_Closed Event to Close my WindowDialog, I see no chance to open the Advanced Dialog, because I fount no Event or Property which I can use to prevent closing window dialog within the DropDown_Closed Event.
Please can you give me an additional hint or simple sample project to use your ColorPicker within a WindowDialog to Close the dialog if the color is finally selected. From my point of view, the best way would be, if the ColorPicker would provide an addition event for finally color selection.
Thanks a lot and best regards
Jan
I have modified the sample I sent you before, so now when you click the Ok button of the Advanced panel the DialogWindow is closed and you are able to get the selected color. Please let me know if this helps you or you need further assistance on this matter.
