When trying to open up a password-protected Excel document currently residing in SP 2010, I get the following message...
Unable to Read Document. The operation couldn't be completed. (OfficeImportErrorDomain error 912.)
Can anyone provide any guidance or potential solutions that may assist us as we have a number of password-protected files (not just Excel) that we'd like to have available through Sharepoint.
Thanks in advance!!!
Hi Kevin,
Thank you for posting at IG forums!
Does this happen with all password protected documents?
Can you please try opening the document in Safari?
Is this error hapening consistenly everytime you open the spreadsheet?
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Hi-
I am also unable to open password protected excel files.
The file cannot be opened via browser. I had believed to be a limitation of apps on the ipad that will open excel files? In SharePlus the password protected excel file just shows a blank white page. I would try a more robust app--If I purchase and install one how do I get it to appear in the SharePlus open with drop downs?
Thanks
Michael,
The fact that you can't open these documents from a browser only points to iOS native viewer (the one used in SharePlus) doesn't support this.
I too recommend using a 3rd party app like Adobe Reader or PDF Expert.
Once the 3rd party app is installed you just need to use Open In in SharePlus to send the document to it. The same from the 3rd party app to SharePlus.
Does this answer your question?
Regards,
