How many files per document library can SharePlus safely cope with?
posted

We have a large document library that is being cached by SharePlus in offline mode - 9000+ documents (about 9GB) in a single document library.

I am getting increasingly nervious as to whether SharePlus can handle such large document libraries.

Can anyone advise if SharePlus can handle this, and what the file size/quantity limits in SharePlus are?

It's recommended to test SharePlus with a subset of your document library to assess its performance under offline mode. Additionally, you may want to consider optimizing your SharePoint document library by organizing documents into folders, using metadata to categorize documents, or implementing document archiving strategies to reduce the overall size of the library.

As for specific file size and quantity limits in SharePlus, it's best to consult the official documentation or reach out to the SharePlus Drift Hunters support team for the most accurate information tailored to your deployment.

    Hi James,

Thanks for posting at IG forums!

SharePlus has been tested with larger libraries, including documents of a couple of hundreds of MB each. It hasn't faced any issues but the iPads have limited storage, though there aren't any specific limits per-app. SharePlus could virtually take as much as needed.

In terms of the number of items. This isn't an issue either. In SharePoint, 10K+ items per library or list isn't strange, and SharePoint can store up to 30M docs per library (yes, 30 million documents). SharePlus will sync in waves. As you may have seen, in the list settings, there is a field called "Query page size" which defines how many items per wave it will sync. It set on 150 by default and this has worked fine for pretty much all of our user base.

I hope this helps answer your question.

    Regards,
