Hi,
We have issue while spying the object of WPF application using QTP 11.0.
The application was developed with .Net 4.0, Infragistics control/Custom controls
While spying the object in the application we are getting the devname property as "terror_dlg__9", this property works fine for few iterations. After that the property get changed to terror_dlg__10 or terror_dlg__8. We need help on this. We would like to know whether "Test advantage" will resolve this issue.
Hello Ruban Chakkaravarath,
Thank you for your post. I have been looking into it and I am wondering whether this behavior occurs on MS controls or Infragistics ones. Also are your Infragistics controls recognized correctly or they are recognized as WpfObjects? Also, do you have TestAdvantage for WPF installed?
Looking forward for your reply.
Thank you for your reply Stefan. We don't have any issue in recognizing the objects except one or two for which have some workaround. We have this issue with Infragistics controls. Test advantage is not installed in our machine. I Would like to know whether Test Advantage can fix this issue.
Hello Ruban,
I believe that this issue comes from the workaround you use in order to be able to recognize the Infragistics controls, so I can suggest you install TestAdvantage for WPF. Once you do this you shouldn't have any problems recognizing our controls. Here you can see what do you need in order to use TestAdvantage for WPF:
http://www.infragistics.com/help/supported-environments/
Please le t me know if this helps you or you need further assistance on this matter.
I am sure that issue is not because of the workaround. The Workaround that we doing capturing the co-ordinates of the object and clicking on it. The problem is not with identifying the object but the properties of the objects are getting changed frequently.
The TestAdvantage for WPF is meant to work with our WPF controls, so I can suggest you download it and try with it. You can download a trial version from here:
http://www.infragistics.com/products/testadvantage-wpf-hp/
I nm y previous post I shared a link with the requirements for the TestAdvantage to work correctly.
Hope this helps you.
Hi Stefan,
Thank you for your suggestion, we'll try installing the trial version of test advantage.
I am looking forward to hear from you.
I am just checking if you got this worked out or you still require any assistance or clarification on the matter.
Internally we are working on some solution, will get back to you in few days.
Hello Chakkaravarath,
I am just checking the progress of this issue and was wondering if you managed to achieve your goal or if you need any further assistance on the matter.
Will Test Advantage (Infragistics WPF Test Automation for HP) support UFT11.53 and .net framework 4.5?
Also can you please give me the steps to install Test Advantage.
