I have seen a couple of posts about accessing a SharePoint site behind UAG or TMG but they all refer to solutions sent in email or seperate communication. Can someone provide a single response detailing what is required to enable accessing a SharePoint site through Forefront (in my case UAG, accessed from an IPad with SharePlus).
Hi all!
Thank you for posting at IG forums!
I assume that you're getting the "Response in unexpected format" error. Usually this is because your UAG has rejected SharePlus' User Agent (Mozilla by default) and returns a web page. Most users have fixed this by changing SharePlus' UA to SharePlus (Seetings > Advanced Settings > User Agent).
Please try this approach.
Should this not work, you may need to declare SharePlus' UA in UAG's AgentDefaultParam.ini file. Something along the lines of:
[Agent26]
Id=SharePlus
EnabledAppTypes=SharePoint2007AAM,SharePoint14AAM
NumOfHeaders=1
RichClientsCheck=1
HeaderName1=User-Agent
HeaderValue1=SharePlus
CompMethod=VALUE_CONTAINS
AuthScheme=Basic
ErrorType=HTTPErrorCode
SupportMsOfba=0
More on this here.
In all cases, you may want to contact you UAG provider for further assistance.
Regards,
Hello
This didn't solve the problem for me. I went to Seetings > Advanced Settings > User Agent and changed "Standard-User-Agent" to "SharePlus". No success with form-based or windows-based authentication.
I try to use a sharepoint portal behind a MS UAG. I can access the portal with my iPhone's safari browser but with Shareplus Pro i get the "Response in unexpected format" error
Thanks for your help.

Hans-Peter,
Can you try the latest version of SharePlus and let us know if the issue is still present?
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Hi Javier,
I tried the latest version with the settings in the USer-Agent, but the problem is still there.
Still get the "unexpected format..." error.
I use an iPhone5 with iOS6 and SharePlus 3.5.102
The strange thing is, that it works on iPad (not sure what version)

The following worked for us: In UAG, go to Applications, select one of the pubished SharePoint apps: Go to Portal Link-> Allow rich clients to bypass trunk authentication -> Use Office Forms BAsed Authentication for Office client applications.
Hope this helps someone
