I am having issues when I try to "open into" shareplus. The application shows the splash screen for a few moments and then goes to the home screen and nothing is copied into the local files. I have been able to open the document into other apps without issue.
I have the most recent version of shareplus pro and I am not seeing any shareplus crash logs for the timeframe the event happens. I thought it may be a memory issue, but I have killed all "background apps" and restarted the iPad. I am using an iPad 2 on iOS 5.0.
Thank you for help on this.
Hello Ty,
Thank you for posting at IG forums!
Does this happen when SharePlus is NOT running in the background only?
Please try opening SharePlus before Opening In from another app. There is a known development issue that causes SharePlus to give an error when it is not running in the background and another app sends a file to it.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
I'm having the same issue. It does not make a difference if SharePlus is already running in the background or not.
Is there any solution to this problem?
Same here. I have tried many different file types, coming from sources such as Goodreader, Dropbox and Sugarsync, with Shareplus running in background or not. Same result...shareplus flashes for 1-2 seconds then crashes. Very frustrating!
Ashley
Hi Ashley et al,
According to another user who had the same problem (thank you Felix for sharing your solution!):
"As for the file, it happened to all kind of files including Word, PDF, Excel, Powerful, etc. I tried them all with the SharePlus Pro installed on my iPhone and they all work fine.
What I did to fix the problem on my iPad was that I unstalled the SharePlus Pro from my iPad, did a hard reset of the device and then re-installed SharePlus Pro. I was then able to send attachments to SharePlus Pro Local File folders via the 'Open in....' from mail and all apps.
This feature did work properly until about a month ago. Anyway all is good now.
Thanks for looking into it!
Felix"
Would you mind trying this? Several other users with the same issue found this to be the solution.
Thanks in advance,
Hi Javier, Thanks for your response. As per your suggestion, I reinstalled the Shareplus Pro app and it seems to have done the trick in that I am able to open files in Shareplus and have them appear as local files for uploading. However, I now have a new problem, which I just sent in (#8398). When I try to open a Sharepoint directory (any one) I get the following error...'Server Message: Server was unable to process request. ---> There is not enough space on disc. ' I removed app from iPad once again, reinstalled, but the problem persists. I have >3 GB free on my iPad and am not having any problems access the same Sharepoint directories from my desktop using a web browser. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Ashley
Ashley,
I'm glad SharePlus is working as expected now.
Regarding that space on disc issue. This is a server error. There are several articles out there that explain how to fix this and possible workarounds.
I wonder why you get this error when you browse the libraries though. Please refer to this post to enable and send me the technical logs after reproducing the issue a couple of times.
One week after reinstalling, Shareplus is crashing again when I try to open a file into it for uploading. The prospect of reinstalling and re-entering my sites and sync options is not appealing. Any othersuggestions....Javier?
Thanks,
