Shareplus Lite and VPN

Several users at my company have been trying to use Shareplus Lite with our WSS 3.0 site on iPad devices.  The software works great when connected in-network.

However, we get an "Authentication Error" when trying to connect remotely via our Cisco VPN.  The VPN client is configured correctly on the device (it can connect to other network resources).

Has anyone else experienced this issue?  Any suggestions?
