Hi,
I'm experienced with a problem. There was something like a freeze, the Indigo Studio didn't response and after some minutes (over 10) I had to kill the process. Now it is not working. The splash screen starts but nothing else happens. I've tried to repair, reinstall, uninstall, restart some times but it didn't help. I don't know what happened it has stopped to work. I've searched for any related information in the event log but it does not have anything.
UPDATE: It is now working I deleted every temporary folder but I think maybe there is not any relation between this and the startup failure. Is that possible it needs to connect to somewhere and that service was down?
Please give me some feedback about this strange issue. Is there anybody else who has faced with this kind of issue? :)
Regads, Zsolt Molnar
Hi Zsolt,
Thanks for letting us know. One thing that we've seen happening that we could not reproduce consistently is that after a while of not using Indigo (not sure how much time), it takes some time to start working fluidly again. Like if everything was in 'hibernation mode' and needs some seconds to get back, it could be 10-20 seconds.
I'm not sure if that was what happened to you, but please if you see a similar behavior again, give it a few seconds and let us know how it went.
Regards,
Andres
I don't remember exactly what I did when it started to not answering, but as far as I can remember I used it constantly when it happened. So, I think it should be something else, but it has not happened again. I really don't like this kind of issues as a developer, you can not reproduce it, but you know something skeleton could be there.. but anyway maybe some changes in the software will solve it automatically.
Let's just say it was something what happens very rarely or never, till it does not do it again. :)
Thanks for your help!
both me and a colleague have had the same issue on first run of Studio. We both get as far as the splash screen and then nothing else - it just hangs.
we can click into the menus but nothing is active
any thoughts?
thanks
Pete
Hi Pete,
We've seen this behavior before when either Silverlight was not installed or Javascript was disabled though it could be something different. I assume you're using a Mac, is that the case?
Can you send me the log information found under this folder to drivero at infragistics.com? /Users/<username>/Documents/Indigo Studio/Logs
One last question, can you see this prototype correctly? https://indigo.infragistics.com/prototype/7LUFC2MT#f=Win8%20Start%20Screen
Diego
Hi Diego,
I do not see that prototype you linked to - just a blank screen.
I am on a mac, but I see no Indigo Studio folder at all - just the Application (even when I search the mac for 'Indigo Studio' - that's all I get
So I fixed it...
I had installed Silverlight through Chrome and the MS site (confusing as hell) told me I had it installed.
I go to the silverlight site in Firefox and it downloads silverlight - install it - and now your app runs.
So it looks like the silverlight install has to be done through FF and not Chrome for it to work - never would have expected that!
Hi again Pete,
Silverlight install dmg should trigger the same wizard and behave the same no matter how it was downloaded.
Did Indigo Studio splash screen showed any indicator that Silverlight was not installed?
Thanks,
The MS site told me I had silverlight installed using chrome (and I'm sure it was installed)
FF however downloaded a fresh dmg which the allowed Studio to run - no indiction in Studio that Silverlight was not installed
"me too".
Installed on several Windows 8 machines, works on one only when running as Administrator, not working on the others. Splash screen comes up, then nothing. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling.
Works like a champ on several Windows 7 machines.
Several instances of the following in my win.log under the logs directory.
