Hi,
I'm experienced with a problem. There was something like a freeze, the Indigo Studio didn't response and after some minutes (over 10) I had to kill the process. Now it is not working. The splash screen starts but nothing else happens. I've tried to repair, reinstall, uninstall, restart some times but it didn't help. I don't know what happened it has stopped to work. I've searched for any related information in the event log but it does not have anything.
UPDATE: It is now working I deleted every temporary folder but I think maybe there is not any relation between this and the startup failure. Is that possible it needs to connect to somewhere and that service was down?
Please give me some feedback about this strange issue. Is there anybody else who has faced with this kind of issue? :)
Regads, Zsolt Molnar
Hi Zsolt,
Thanks for letting us know. One thing that we've seen happening that we could not reproduce consistently is that after a while of not using Indigo (not sure how much time), it takes some time to start working fluidly again. Like if everything was in 'hibernation mode' and needs some seconds to get back, it could be 10-20 seconds.
I'm not sure if that was what happened to you, but please if you see a similar behavior again, give it a few seconds and let us know how it went.
Regards,
Andres
I don't remember exactly what I did when it started to not answering, but as far as I can remember I used it constantly when it happened. So, I think it should be something else, but it has not happened again. I really don't like this kind of issues as a developer, you can not reproduce it, but you know something skeleton could be there.. but anyway maybe some changes in the software will solve it automatically.
Let's just say it was something what happens very rarely or never, till it does not do it again. :)
Thanks for your help!
Hi Joseph,
We were able to reproduce the installation issue under a Win 8 x64 environment and we are working on a fix for it.
In the meanwhile I suggest you uninstall Indigo as admin and then reinstall Indigo with the limited user account.
Thanks,
Claudio
Thank you.
In the meantime, a good workaround (at least for me) is to simply copy the .exe & .config file into a directory accessible by the limited user. They appear to be the only objects required to run.
So if you installed IndigoStudio as Administrator, the .exe & .config files would be in C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Infragistics\Indigo Studio. Once I copied them to a directory accessible by my limited user account, all is well.
This appears to be a Win8 problem only? I have several users running it on Windows 7 with no issues.
Hello,
I am having a similar problem to these. The first time, I installed on Chrome (on my Mac) and then I installed the new Microsoft Silverlight while in Chrome.
I had the blank screen and I went to lunch and came back and it was still just the splash page with the logo and my ball of death. Then I deleted all the files, opened Firefox, installed IndigoStudio and Silverlight while in Firefox and I'm still getting the same problem.
Except this time I get the splash screen but nothing opens. No "New Storyboard"...etc. Just the splash screen.Any suggestions? Thanks!Sara
Hi Sara,
Can you try to open this prototype to see if SL was correctly installed: http://indigo.infragistics.com/prototype/EPDCT0Y5
Thanks
Diego
Hi Diego,
I just got a blank screen...Should I try to reinstall it a third time?Thanks for your help!Sara
Hi again Sara,
Can you try downloading the Silverlight dmg file from here: http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/handlers/getsilverlight.ashx
Then close all your browsers, install the dmg and finally open Indigo?
Best regards,
Hi Diego -
We (theres around 4 of us) are using Indigo to wireframe a couple of applications, and we love it. We having Indigo "installed" on a shared readonly drive and are running it from there. Due to some earlier installation issues (documented in this same thread) we have extracted the exe and config file, put it on a shared readonly network drive and are running it that way. So far, it appears to work well in this installation configuration.
Except for one thing. One of our users tried starting up Indigo today, and is having a problem. The splash screen comes up and goes away normally, and it then appears to be loading the last project loaded. This process seems to go on forever, using 100% of one of the cores, and eating up memory. We have let it run for hours (or until it exhausts memory) with no end in sight.
After doing a little bit of investigation, it appears to be related to his user profile (Windows 8, member of a domain). If I have someone else login with a differnet username on the same machine, opening up the same project from the same place, it works for that person.
So - I was wondering if there is a dir with user specific cache type files/info that I could delete so we could start him out "Fresh" again?
Thanks for any help,
Joe
ps should mention that we are running the latest release from a week or two ago.
Hi Joe,
Is it possible that the user with the problem has access to a different folder structure in the network drive? Indigo scans the project folder looking for screens and storyboards. This implies that having a complex folder structure inside the project folder may cause loading delays.
How can I stop getting updates to this topic!!!
The email states:
To unsubscribe:
But this seems to be out of date the the UI no longer seems to have these terms.
If you can just do it for me then thank you, if not, then please show me how to stop these emails
thanks
Pete
Can you try what I've included in the attachment on this post?
