Hi,
I'm experienced with a problem. There was something like a freeze, the Indigo Studio didn't response and after some minutes (over 10) I had to kill the process. Now it is not working. The splash screen starts but nothing else happens. I've tried to repair, reinstall, uninstall, restart some times but it didn't help. I don't know what happened it has stopped to work. I've searched for any related information in the event log but it does not have anything.
UPDATE: It is now working I deleted every temporary folder but I think maybe there is not any relation between this and the startup failure. Is that possible it needs to connect to somewhere and that service was down?
Please give me some feedback about this strange issue. Is there anybody else who has faced with this kind of issue? :)
Regads, Zsolt Molnar
Hi Zsolt,
Thanks for letting us know. One thing that we've seen happening that we could not reproduce consistently is that after a while of not using Indigo (not sure how much time), it takes some time to start working fluidly again. Like if everything was in 'hibernation mode' and needs some seconds to get back, it could be 10-20 seconds.
I'm not sure if that was what happened to you, but please if you see a similar behavior again, give it a few seconds and let us know how it went.
Regards,
Andres
I don't remember exactly what I did when it started to not answering, but as far as I can remember I used it constantly when it happened. So, I think it should be something else, but it has not happened again. I really don't like this kind of issues as a developer, you can not reproduce it, but you know something skeleton could be there.. but anyway maybe some changes in the software will solve it automatically.
Let's just say it was something what happens very rarely or never, till it does not do it again. :)
Thanks for your help!
Hate to be a pain, but has the newer version been published yet? If not, could you maybe send out a "beta" of the new build?
We are lovin' it on Win7, where it runs for us, but many/most of us are now running Win8.
Thanks,
Joe
Hi Joseph,
The installers files are being updated in the website. They should be ready today but I can share the installer with you, just send me an email to drivero at infragistics.com
Diego
Hi again,
The latest installer has been published. You can download it from our website: https://www.infragistics.com/products/indigo-design
I just downloaded the latest from the website, and sorry to report it's still messed up on Windows 8. I try running it, and nothing happens. With the last version I used to get the splash screen, but now I don't get the splash screen anymore.
I tried looking for additional logging, but C:\Users\<yourusername>\Documents\ is empty.
Is there anything I can provide to help you diagnose?
Windows 8 x64. I am running as a limited user, but installed as administrator if that helps. What appears incorrect is that the Indigo Studio icon is pointing into "C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Infragistics\Indigo Studio\Indigo Studio.exe".
When I try to install as the limited user, I get a UAC popup for the admin password.
Is IndigoStudio supported running as a limited user?
We were able to reproduce the installation issue under a Win 8 x64 environment and we are working on a fix for it.
In the meanwhile I suggest you uninstall Indigo as admin and then reinstall Indigo with the limited user account.
Claudio
I've created a private case for you and linked it to the open development issue that we have for this issue. The case number is CAS-110731-W8S2L7.
You can view this case by heading to https://www.infragistics.com/my-account/keys-and-downloads/ and selecting My Support Activity from the left hand side menu.
Thank you.
In the meantime, a good workaround (at least for me) is to simply copy the .exe & .config file into a directory accessible by the limited user. They appear to be the only objects required to run.
So if you installed IndigoStudio as Administrator, the .exe & .config files would be in C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Infragistics\Indigo Studio. Once I copied them to a directory accessible by my limited user account, all is well.
This appears to be a Win8 problem only? I have several users running it on Windows 7 with no issues.
Hello,
I am having a similar problem to these. The first time, I installed on Chrome (on my Mac) and then I installed the new Microsoft Silverlight while in Chrome.
I had the blank screen and I went to lunch and came back and it was still just the splash page with the logo and my ball of death. Then I deleted all the files, opened Firefox, installed IndigoStudio and Silverlight while in Firefox and I'm still getting the same problem.
Except this time I get the splash screen but nothing opens. No "New Storyboard"...etc. Just the splash screen.Any suggestions? Thanks!Sara
I'm experiencing the same issue. I didn't make any modification to my Win7 configuration since yesterday when I last worked with Indigo, and now Indigo hangs on the splash screen. I just tried reinstalling Silverlight and Indigo without luck.
Thanks for your help,
Joel
Update (same day): Ok... after clicking everywhere in the splash screen all of a sudden now it showed up the interface... I was wondering too if it had something to do with my project and screen files being on a shared drive which the whole interaction designer team is using to collaborate on wireframes...
Hi Sara,
Can you try to open this prototype to see if SL was correctly installed: http://indigo.infragistics.com/prototype/EPDCT0Y5
Thanks
